Last summer I wrote a brief post about camp unity outfits. There were some great comments and ideas send in by you too. Thanks!
While I was on assignment last summer I tried to take a few pictures of some of the camp unity outfits I saw, so here are a few you can use and steal as needed! You can click on the pictures for larger versions. If you have ideas for this summer, leave a comment. I’m looking for an idea for my guys and we leave in a few days!

Are you sure the bumble bees aren’t “Charlie Browns”?
Mike! Thank you! Those are Charlie Browns. As a nice tie-in you could teach your cabin the Charlie Brown and do it during the unity games.
Our area actually tries to avoid elaborate cabin outfits. A lot of these outfits seem to be more about the leaders coming up with a cool idea and getting outfits for all their kids. Instead, we focus on putting kids in the position to be resourceful and come up with something on their own. So as leaders, we’ll bring a few extra white t-shirts, some bandannas and some paint, so the kids have something to work with, but for the most part it’s the kids’ thing, not ours. Otherwise, it can sometimes feel like a competition between leaders – and, inevitably, the kids gripe that another area has cooler leaders!
I know this thought varies widely, especially regionally. Cabins in the northeast all seem to bring elaborate costumes, while out west and in the south I feel like I see less of it. I’m surprised no one mentioned it yet.
Correction #8 is actually Charlie Brown… Not bumble bees
