I was pointed to a site that is awesome for making scripture memory cards in a nice format. This could be helpful for leadership meetings, work crew training, campaigners. Basically it will format the cards for you in a nice format.

It is called Verse Card Maker from Michael Scott, but not the one from the paper company.

This year we were able to move into a bigger house (yeah recession!) that was closer to the school so that we could have club there. We had been wanting this for a long time (you can read about that here). My wife and I had talked about it even back when we were dating in high school!

It has worked out awesome! You need to know that having a ton of people over and hosting them is something that for some reason God has gifted us with, I know it wouldn’t work for everyone. But it has been great to have a consistent place for club each week. It also cuts down on my time to travel to and from club each week. Same thing for team meetings and campaigners. This way too, the club kids and leaders get to see my family and how we operate, which I think is a key part of what we hope they “catch” in club. Also my kids get to listen to club talks and see how our family is ministering as a team. I’ve had great talks with my children about why we have club at our house and about daddy’s high school friends and leaders. It also has allowed my wife to be more of a part of our ministry to kids and leaders. I know it is not for everyone, but it has worked great for us!

This year we decided to get stickers made up for each school with club. On the stickers we had a YL logo and the school name. Surprisingly, they were very cheap to make. You can find custom one-color stickers for five to ten cents each depending on how many you get. It seemed like a no-brainer to throw out 20-40 stickers at club and for contact work (you could even put the club details on the sticker). It is a great way to get the word out that is cheaper then a t-shirt and lasts longer then a flier. I saw them on cars and on books and binders at school all the time. It was a smart investment, especially when money is tight, like now.

Making a design is as easy as opening up Power Point (most people have this I think), putting a logo and some text in there and then going to “save as type…” and in the file type part scroll to the bottom and look for “jpg”. I use Photoshop, but I’ve used this other way before for simple stuff and I figure most can do this very easily if they don’t know anything about photo/design editing.
