This Year… Joined YL Prayer 24-7

Over the summer I normally try to post a couple things that I learned over the previous school year. If you want see the series as it has developed over lots of years then click here. If you have anything you learned from last year that you would like to tell me about, send it my way smcgever (at) pv dot younglife dot org

Imagine organizing continuous prayer for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week… for 100 years. In my personal research I have taken a close look at the legendary Moravians who did this back in the 18th & 19th centuries and during this time cultivated an incredible ministry and a missionary movement never seen before in the history of the church.

So when I heard about the YL Prayer 24-7 team I quickly joined. The vision is to organize a mission-wide prayer strategy that will lead to constant, consistent and perpetual prayer for our work of introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ. The goal is that in the coming months is to have 6,720 prayer team members engaged each week, which will cover 15 minutes each day, 7 days a week, with at least 10 people praying at the same time! There are already 2,000 people from 31 countries who have joined. Our brother and sisters from Africa YL has by far the larger portion of those who have signed up.

Keep praying if you are already a member. If not, join the team!

Invite your team! Anyone that has access to YL Staff & Volunteer resources is welcome to participate.

Share requests & God sightings with the rest of the team members.
