I’m speaking at a junior high summer camp in a several weeks. I want a theme to tie it all together. I’m thinking Transformers (i.e. Jesus can transform people). I loved them as a kid and I think junior high students like them quite a bit too (based off conversations with some of my junior high friends).
I have a 7 talk outline already drafted, but I would love some of your ideas before I post mine (and possibly limit your unlimited collective creative potential).
Any ideas for illustrations, Bible stories, ideas to communicate sin, cross, resurrection, accepting Christ, discipleship, etc.??

Hey bro, I got a few ideas I will send your way. I love Transformers though. I see some pretty cheesy busted costumes. Guys in boxes that transform into a stack of boxes. Boxitron and Carboardicon.
Hi Friend,
Great theme. I haven’t seen the movie Transformers but I’m guessing you will get some great ideas/illustrations from the movie, Perhaps a silly skit or run on involving those bulky box like arm and leg joints with a variety of shooting objects.
My one message with transformers was the basic:
“When you look at us humans, we are more than what you see on the surface.
We were actually designed to be children of God. Thats our purpose: To become a child of God. Just as a transformer toy can be changed from a car to a robot, We can become changed from mere flesh and bones as we put ourself completely in the hands of God who can bend and mold us into the kind of man or woman of God he created us to be and become.

Mount of Transfiguration
Transformeration
There’s glory. We’re moving from glory to glory,
and yet the glory will not be fully ours unless we are fully His.
The disciples Luke 9 were puffed up because Jesus was doing miracles and Jesus and “his disciples” were the happening thing.
Jesus reminds the disciples that it’s not all a glory thing. The Son of Man must suffer, be rejected and be killed before rising.
Disciples must deny selves, carry a daily cross and follow after Jesus whereever he leads even in some tough situations.
This is part of the Transformation process! There will be some tough stuff involved.
Another thought. Transformers have battles with other transformers right. Good and bad transformers.
What will be some our our transformer battles that we can look forward to

Review the different gifts and abilities of the different transformers.
Talk about the different gifts and abilities God gives us through the Holy Spirit….
Difference between Holy Spirit gifts and Holy Spirit fruit.
We all have different gifts… We are all called to bear fruit.
