You may or may not know that where I sit right now is a hub of Spring Break activity. It is about 70 degrees, sunny, down the street are multiple Spring training MLB games being played right now, it is perfect picnic, golf, kite, pretty much anything you want to do outside weather. Spring is upon us, and so is Spring Break!

A few weeks ago our team met to plan out our clubs for the semester. Some are variations of clubs we have done in the past and others are brand new themes. I will post the clubs as we do them with notes and ideas.
But for those of you who are interested, I put together a zip file of a complete semester of club plans you can use. The table below shows the plans that I included and the last column gives you a heads-up on the clubs we currently planning. Hope this helps! Usually once or twice a year we do a kidnap club. We did one last Spring. I think timing is key on this club. You can do it when things aren’t looking good, using it as a boost when numbers are low. But I think it is best utilized when you see things picking up and there is a positive energy in club.

An oldie but a goodie… Fear Factor club. Quite honestly I’ve seen some clubs really do this one big with video camera feeds, strange animals and thousands of bugs in boxes… wow. This is our more manageable version. We did a version of this a few years ago too.

Over the past year we started a new Wyldlife club in our area. As I mentioned before we meet right after school in a classroom and the school is nearly 90% Latino. These club plans reflect a little bit of that context. Many of them are adaptations of my high school YL club plans for a junior high setting. I hope they might help you a bit in your planning!

Today is the official kickoff for two of my clubs I lead. Tonight is our big all-area dodgeball tournament. I am doing a new type of talk there, here is one I did before.
But in about an hour we will have our WL club which meets after school. The school is 87% hispanic and all of our leaders are former students there (except me). Below is our club plan for today.

OK my Sun Devils got snubbed and missed out on the big dance. I know they were a bubble team but oh well. At least they are a #1 seed in the NIT. Did I mention that our arch-rivals at the University of Arizona missed the tournament for the first time 25 years… and didn’t even get invited to the NIT. They got invited to some tournament lower then that and then turned it down. That makes me feel a little better.

I’m so thankful that I’m getting more and more emails and suggestions from all of you out there! You are all really helping everyone out a ton. Including my clubs!
