Now is a GREAT time to ask any crafty committee ladies to help make anything you might need! Doesn't need to be extravagant. Asking them to help make something simple like a cape, tu-tu's or anything! All Christmas stuff is on clearance right now at JoAnn's or any craft store. Grabbing some fabric and having our committee make some Christmas scarves (very simple ones) out of the clearance Christmas fabric will save us a ton of hassle come this summer when we need Christmas stuff for the last night at Woodleaf.

We like to try and have entire area unity outfits if possible. Brings the guys and girls together. We've done...

-300 Theme or gladiator/roman solider
We saw a group do this and so we also did it with our kids and it was a hit.
-Girls made togas out of sheets. Silver duct tape for belts, arm bands and accessories, greenery vines stuck in hair
-Guys had tin foil turkey pans for shields, toy swords, red sponge, red basketball shorts, sharpie drawn on abs, cut helmets out of small waste baskets and use a sponge for the top fan.
-Red material capes for everyone

Super Mario Brothers
Guys were Mario and Luigi, Girls princesses with a few other characters included

-Guys bring a red or green tee shirt. Round up some overalls. You can buy black felt that is sticky on one side and cut out moustaches. Bring some plungers to accessorize. Red and green baseball hats. Cut out white circles with "M" or "L" written on them to put on the hats.
-Girls: round up tutu's if you can. Or use cheap pink party sreamers and duct tape to make shirts. Buy cheap plastic crowns and have girls bring a pink tee shirt.
-We added a yellow star (cut out of cardboard with face drawn on like the video game). The duck/turtle character (used trash can lid for shell, found duct visor at Michael's). And toadstool- guy wearing white basketball shorts, green vest. Find a white umbrella and add red felt dots to make a mushroom top. We duct taped it to the kid and made him run around with the umbrella on his head. VERY funny.
-cheap white housekeeping/cleaning gloves to wear for all.

And something edgy with the current day is fun as last summer we did do Hilary and Obama. Ridiculous I know...
-Someone donated actual rubber masks of Hilary and Obama and we just picked up some old skirts from Goodwill and old button up shirts and ties to go along with them. GREAT reaction.

Good times indeed!

Worked really well, just take orange facepaint ($4.95 at any costume store)
and tin foil
paint faces bright orange (around crazy sunglasses of course.and tan with the tin foil sheilds!
what a bright idea!
