Last year spring sports began to cut into our club, at one point we only had one student show up, so I prayed and asked God what should be done. He had me do something similar. The way it worked is I had asked several people in the community if they would mind manning a station, and at each station the teams would show up and do a task, the moderator would mark the time that they showed up, and the time they finished plus any penalties or bonuses that they had obtained during the task. So there was no need to travel fast because the only time that mattered was the length it took for them to finish said task. we would release two teams at a time, one a black team and one a red team, the black would travel clockwise around the map, the red counterclockwise. we did this every five minutes till all the teams were released. heres the thing the teams only new where they were to go next, not the entire map. They found out their next step by getting an envelope with directions where to go next from the moderator after they finished said task. I hope this make sense, anyway the whole thing took about 2 and a half hours. but we had about fifty students show up to compete and our last couple of clubs had good numbers.
